Description

The Title I Intervention Specialist supports student academic and behavioral achievement by providing targeted interventions, collaborating with school staff, and implementing evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies. This position works closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to identify student needs, facilitate data-driven problem solving, and promote student success through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related field.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the area of assignment; or
  3. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions.
  • Ability to analyze student data and facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, families, and support staff.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, spreadsheets, databases, and web-based applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaborative problem-solving and action planning for students requiring supplemental and intensive academic or behavioral interventions.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student performance data to guide intervention planning and monitor progress.
  • Provide specialized instruction through individual and small-group intervention sessions.
  • Implement evidence-based academic and behavioral intervention strategies to support student achievement.
  • Provide instructional coaching, behavioral coaching, and professional development to school staff.
  • Support school-based teams in implementing MTSS and data-driven decision-making practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff regarding the educational needs of students receiving Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services.
  • Coordinate ESE services within the school in collaboration with administrators and instructional staff.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust supports based on student outcomes.
  • Assist students with self-care needs, including toileting, positioning, lifting, feeding, and other personal care activities when required.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  • Supervise interns and practicum students, as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with applicable laws and district policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects or assist students.
  • Ability to perform physical activities associated with assisting students, including lifting, positioning, and mobility support when necessary.

Terms of Employment

  • 10-month position.
  • Salary and benefits as established by the Board.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated by the Principal and/or Assistant Principal in accordance with Board policy and established evaluation procedures.
